Department of Clinical Biochemistry has been  established with the  initial financial assistance from UGC under Innovative Programme  Scheme. The main aim of the department has been to offer quality research and excellent teaching learning opportunities in the emerging field of Clinical Biochemistry

Vision

To produce  manpower having sound technical knowhow in the field of diagnostic health care system, the mission is to serve the society to its maximum. The centre is achieving the mission by imparting  two years Master’s programme (MSc. Clinical Biochemistry) to students, giving them exhaustive theoretical inputs blended with practical hospital based training. The course has been primarily designed to act as an interface between clinical & non-clinical aspects of Biochemistry. This is the only  course in this university which offers a full-fledged six months internship/hospital  based project programme conducted at various institutions of national & international repute like AIIMS, JNU & NII  New Delhi, SKIMS Soura,  IISc. & NCBS Bangalore, CCMB Hyderabad etc

Ten batches have already passed out successfully and a good number of them have been enrolled for PhD/research programmes at various prestigious places of international repute: Oxford University, London, University of Massachusetts Medical school USA, AIIMS New Delhi, NIN Hyderabad, NII New Delhi, CDFD Hyderabad, IISc.
